Hi everyone.
Dashboard v2.2.2 is out. It can be pulled from the github. This version is a major release with voluntary self-registration feature build in. You need to edit the conf.inc.php to your needs.
More information can be found in the xlxd-star yahoo group.

Hi everyone.
XLX v1.3.5 with dashboard 2.1.6 is out. It can be pulled from the github.
- XLX v1.3.5 is now supporting dxrf connections with crossed module. (for example, dxrf module A can now be linked to xlx module D). - Dashboard v2.1.6 has now a config file and makes it easy to customize several parameters, like hiding nodes IP etc.

Hi John,
Well for experimental use the number is not important. But when people starts using the Reflector in production, it is imperative that they have unique numbers. At least for the XLX. On XLX it is not possible to establish an interlink or a connection from an old dxrfd between two Reflectors with the same name. Our build in gatekeeper will block the connection to prevent loops. The best way would be for people to work out any number conflicts between themselves. On your place I would not put duplicate numbers in your list. People should have a look first before asking or choosing a number.
In Europe it becomes a bit difficult because the old DCS system by Thosten blocks already DCS001-034. As long there was only one Reflector system supporting the DCS protocol, XRF users didn't need to take care of that. Now with the XLX you have to pay attention that you are the sysop of the existing DCS Reflector, or that you choose a number higher than DCS040. Otherwise you are getting in trouble with ircddb when you are using DCS protocol with the XLX because the linking request to the XLX in DCS is the same as Thorsten's system. For example DCS879BL would link the users to XLX879 on module B using DCS protocol.
XLX is very powerful and can handle hundreds of connections in multiple protocols without any problem. We tested it for two weeks with +-80 repeaters linked and more than 20 parallel audio streams without any trouble.
I encourage people also to check if multiple XLX's are really necessary for one country. In the US maybe yes. In Europe certainly not. One XLX could cover the needs of whole Germany. Maybe you want to put up two or tree more to get a load balancer or stay redundant but that's it.
Anyway the XLX is open source and everyone should decide for his self if he want to run his own Reflector. But it would be certainly better to have a few XLX in a datacenter with fix IP and good network connection as to have hundreds on local DSL internet or mobile Networks.
However it is not my role to play god and everyone should take it's one decision and should have fun with our beautiful hobby.

Hi John,
Yes I agree 100% with you. At the moment, a lot of people are experimenting with the XLX to see if XLX can replace the old dxrf. In our support group, I always tell the people, if they are satisfied with the XLX and want to keep it, they should register at your list. But I don't really have the hand over it.
Anyway thank you for the good work you are doing with your list.

Hi everyone.
XLX v1.3.1 with dashboard 2.1.3 is out. It can be pulled from the github.
Make sure that you also update the dashboard included in the package!
There are major changes on the network layer to support several nodes behind a NAT. This version also supports multiradio repeaters.
Have fun - Luc - LX1IQ

Or change the startup script as mentioned in the doc :-)
// to make the startup script working under CentOS following lines need to be replaced. The top line is the original line (commented out with a #). The next line is the line to replace with:
# start-stop-daemon --start --exec $DAEMON --chuid $USER:$GROUP --background -- $ARGUMENTS $DAEMON $ARGUMENTS
# start-stop-daemon --stop --pidfile $PIDFILE killproc $DAEMON
