Trying to run xrfd. You can see the link happen in netcat. But I never get the response back from the xreflector saying connected. I have udp port 20001 - 20065, 30001 - 30065, 40000 - 40065.
Any ideas?

What version of dxrfd are you running?
If your version has a passwd.h file, has the password been set?
What is the command port in dxrfd.cfg?
What is the syntax of your netcat command and parameters?
If the netcat command is correct and you have the version with password protection, there is no prompt after issuing the netcat command until you do ul followed by space and password.

I don't know what you mean about 3.08 and 3.17. They are two different versions. For 3.17 you might direct your questions to Timm, OE5STM - either via PM here or using the Contact form on his organization's web site that is listed with XRF022 in the Directory. From the netcat pu command it seems that the reflector is working and I don't know what you mean about getting connects in or out.
There is a document you might take a look at that could help. It is for 3.08a which includes password protection so you can ignore that part. It is in the Yahoo group Amateur_Radio_Experimenters_Corner, files area folder dxrfd 3.08a.
Hope that helps.

Yes, I have tried 3.08 and 3.17. I get the same result with both. Repeaters can connect. It shows there connected. But the repeaters keep saying there trying to link. I never get a successful link out of either version. I will read the docs again but I am just puzzled.

Hard to say. From the netcat pu command, the reflector sees active links. It really helps if you are more precise with your descriptions. Specifically, when you say "trying to link" are you getting "Linking to" from your gateway? Possibly internet or firewall issues.

One other thing. W6KD suggests you may not have port forwarding on our router. As an alternative to that you can use the DPlus protocol which does not require port forwarding if you put the host file entry in the folder for DPlus.
One other thing - if you look at the 3.08a documentation, that version uses 30010 as the command port instead of 30002.
